A year ago today I was in a dark place, running a business can be a very challenging and lonely road, to most — it will either make you or break you.
I remember in November when I got the email notifying me that I was nominated for this award… I truly thought it was a spam. Upon a follow up request I did eventually book my first interview in the finalist selection process and received the news early January that I had made it in the top three finalist positions — I was ecstatic… to me, this was enough.
When my name was called on stage the other night I cannot describe into words how I was truly feeling, I was breathless.
The first time I had attended one of these events was a year and a half ago… I remember sharing to those closest to me that I would be up there one day.
Having this become a reality shows that anything is possible with enough hard work, dedication and the resilience to never give up. You can turn obstacles to opportunities with the right attitude and growth mindset.

Without the support of those closest to me over the years, none of this would have been possible. I’m honoured, humbled and truly blessed to be granted this prestigious award — thank you to all those who made this evening as special as it was to me.
